Stop Struggling with Salesforce Layout Updates! Learn How to Disable Caching and Get Instant Results!

If you are a Salesforce System Administrator, you may have experienced a frustrating issue where your new Layout doesn’t get updated even after refreshing. This is because in Lightning, Salesforce refreshes Layout metadata every 15 minutes to provide better performance by not having to call the server for changes. The assumption is that System Administrators are not usually making changes to page layouts during business hours.

However, this can be a problem when testing in a Sandbox. Fortunately, Salesforce gives you the tools to turn off the 15-minute caching and turn it back on when you are done making changes.

Mobile

Here are the steps to disable caching for Salesforce mobile apps on Android and iOS devices:

  1. Click the gear icon on your mobile device.
  2. Select “Setup” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Under the “Apps” section, choose “Mobile Apps”.
  4. Select “Salesforce” and then “Salesforce Offline”.
  5. Uncheck the box that says “Enable caching in Salesforce for Android and iOS”.
  6. Click “Save” to apply the changes.

Lightning Experience

  5. Click “Save” to apply the changes.
